Sorority Life: The Sing’s The Thing

Singing is one highlight (among many) which makes sorority life so fun, colorful & exciting.  Whether it’s serenading other fraternities on & around campus or singing to potential new members during Formal Recruitment events (Bid Day included), the power of music in our chapters can’t be overlooked or underestimated.  Not only is singing an expressive way to show how much we love our sororities/fraternities – it’s also a way for us to articulate to others why we love our sororities/fraternities like we do.

What better way to see this philosophy in action than at our Greek sings!!

Greek Sings are an opportunity for us to do one of many things which we do best:  deliver music from the heart & performances which will have the audience saying “Wow!!”  Likewise, they’re an opportunity for us to showcase our talents, to find a creative outlet unlike any other & above all, we’re delivering our songs for a good & truly worthy cause as well.

Preparing for our Greek Sings isn’t exactly a cakewalk:  in fact, it’s one of the more difficult tasks we’ll ever have to take on.  Doing our own version of a hit musical takes plenty of time, hard work, dedication & most of all, our own creative slant (knowing which themes are workable & which ones aren’t)!!  If that’s not enough, it takes plenty of dialogue with the fraternity/fraternities you’re going to be paired up with for Greek Sing:  true, you may have some interesting & amazing theme ideas/suggestions but the Brothers in, say, Delts/Sigs/SigEp may have some awesome Sing ideas of their own so hear them out.  Keeping the lines of communication open is key:  not only will it make the difference between a truly memorable Greek Sing & an epic fail;  it’ll also show that you’re ready to deliver a show-stopping & mind-blowing performance as well!!

Greek Sings aren’t just about having the time of your life – they’re also about singing for a good cause, as well as reaching out to others through song, through the gift of music.
