The Creeds of our Sororities/women’s Fraternities articulate who we are, what we do & what our Sororities/women’s Fraternities are all about.  At the same time, they are guides which we use to show both Greeks & non-Greeks all the great things we do for our chapters, colleges/universities & communities.

The words of our Creeds are words we live day in & day out, not when we “feel like it” or “when the time is right to do so.”  Truly, the words of our Creeds are much more than words alone – they’re also words to live by!!

Our Sororities’/Fraternities’ Creeds are amazing.  Beautiful.  Heartfelt.  Honest.  Truthful.  Sincere.  At the same time, our Creeds are a perfect way to show others how we live the values & principles of our Sororities/Fraternities.

The words of our Creeds are words we reflect on from time to time; they’ve carried us through both good & bad times.  Honestly, our Sororities’/Fraternities’ Creeds carry plenty of power & relevance – even today.

The Creeds of our Sororities/women’s Fraternities are so much more than words on a page.  They are a way of life which we follow with all of our hearts in all that we do for our chapters, alumnae associations, colleges/universities, communities & the world.

I’m proud to be a Sigma Chi.  I’m proud to be pro-Panhellenic.  I’m also proud to say that I embrace the Delta Zeta Creed with my whole heart.

If only other Greek men could follow my lead & feel the same way that I do about this beautiful & stunning Creed which Dorothy Mumford Williams wrote over seven decades ago.  For some of these same men, they’re probably asking by now,  “What does the Delta Zeta Creed have to do with me?  I’m a Sig/Pike/SigEp/SAE/Delt/Theta Chi/etc., not a Delta Zeta.  How can I relate to a creed which isn’t even from my own Fraternity?” 

For countless Delta Zetas,  the Delta Zeta Creed is a beautiful, heartfelt way in articulating to others who DZ is, what DZ does & what DZ is all about.  For countless Delta Zetas, the Delta Zeta Creed is more than just words on a page:  It’s also a way of life.  For countless Delta Zetas, the Sorority’s Creed expresses how DZ’s undergraduate & alumnae members live their values in all the great things that they do for their colleges/universities, local communities & beyond. 

Here’s what I’d say to men in fraternities who are wondering how they can relate to the Delta Zeta Creed & how it could be applicable to their lives:  “You don’t have to be a Delta Zeta to appreciate this Creed’s power & honesty.  Look it up.  Read it time & time again, if you must.  To make a long story short, the words in the Delta Zeta Creed are words to live by. ”

The Delta Zeta Creed is much more than words on a page.  It’s also a way of life & gives us words to live by.  Take it from someone who is proud to be supporting such an amazing Sorority & really takes the words of the Delta Zeta Creed to heart in all that he does.

Gamma Phi Beta finds ways to shine by empowering &  inspiring women to discover/realize their true potential as leaders on campus & in the real world.

Gamma Phi Beta finds ways to shine through its members living the Sorority’s core values of love, labor, learning & loyalty on campus, in the local community & the world.

Gamma Phi Beta finds ways to shine when it comes to strong & steadfast sisterhood.

Gamma Phi Beta finds ways to shine for women who are seeking a home away from home, a place where they can be themselves & make an impact for their chapters, Panhellenic communities, colleges/universities & beyond.

Gamma Phi Beta finds ways to shine when (as well as how & why) it comes to recruiting quality women for chapter membership.  (For Gamma Phi, recruitment is something that’s not limited to Formal Recruitment – it’s something the Sorority does all year long!!)

Gamma Phi Beta finds ways to shine when its members make a heartfelt difference through volunteering, community service, philanthropy & last but not least, leadership opportunities.

Gamma Phi Beta finds ways to shine through its undergraduate members getting involved on campus (through Panhellenic Council, Student Government Association, Homecoming Steering Committee, etc.).

Gamma Phi Beta finds ways to shine through its members aspiring to excellence in all that they do.

Last but not least, Gamma Phi Beta finds ways to shine through its members showing others who Gamma Phi is, what Gamma Phi does & what Gamma Phi is all about!!

Our Sororities/women’s Fraternities aren’t just about being classy.  They’re also about living with  integrity, honor, high standards & expectations in the good things that our organizations do for our colleges/universities, communities & beyond.

Our Sororities/women’s Fraternities are about living our values for other Greeks & non-Greeks to see & know.

Our Sororities/women’s Fraternities are about leading with values.

Our Sororities/women’s Fraternities are about being committed to high standards in scholarship & academic excellence.

Our Sororities/women’s Fraternities are about doing the little things right when it comes to selecting quality women for chapter membership.

Our Sororities/women’s Fraternities are about making a heartfelt/positive impact for our campuses & communities through philanthropy & community service.

Our Sororities/women’s Fraternities aren’t just about promoting sisterhood.  They’re also about living our sisterhood as well.

Our Sororities/women’s Fraternities are about empowering, inspiring & encouraging women to become the best that they can possibly be!!

Our Sororities/women’s Fraternities are about leading the way for our chapters, our colleges/universities, our communities & the world.

Our Sororities/women’s Fraternities are about being amazing.  But at the same time, that doesn’t give us the license to say that we’re “better” than/more “superior” to the other Sororities/women’s Fraternities on campus.

Our Sororities/women’s Fraternities are about upholding consistency when it comes to quality recruitment, quality sisterhood, quality leadership development, quality new member programming, quality commitment to service & quality commitment to our philanthropic efforts!!

Our Sororities/women’s Fraternities are about bringing change for the better on campus, in the local community & beyond.

Our Sororities/women’s Fraternities are about making positive & lasting impressions for the communities & colleges/universities we represent.

Our Sororities/women’s Fraternities are about changing women’s lives & helping them realize their goals, visions & hopes.

Our Sororities/women’s Fraternities are about providing women with a second home away from home, a place where they can truly be themselves.

Last but not least:  Our Sororities/women’s Fraternities aren’t just for college days alone.  They’re a lifetime experience!!
