Delta Zeta: Chapter Spotlight – Gamma Tau

For six decades, the DeeZees at Bowling Green State University (Gamma Tau Chapter) have been enriching BGSU, the greater community of Bowling Green & beyond, as well as the world.  No doubt, the DeeZees at BGSU live their lives with the highest of values & live the words of the Delta Zeta Creed to the fullest through the great & little things that they do on campus, as well as in the community of Bowling Green!!

The women of Gamma Tau Chapter shine through their involvement in various events (e.g. Homecoming, Greek Week, cheering on Bowling Green’s sports teams, among others) & various campus organizations.  No matter what, the DeeZees at BGSU are always ready to get involved – showing others that Delta Zeta is a Sorority empowering women to make a lasting impact & a genuine difference for their colleges/universities & their communities!!

When Gamma Tau Chapter’s not supporting the Sorority’s official philanthropies (speech and hearing & The Painted Turtle Camp), its members jump at the opportunity to participate in other Greek-sponsored events – one of many areas where Delta Zeta shines at Bowling Green!!  Year in & year out, BGSU’s DeeZees compete in games & events which help raise money for the philanthropies of other organizations.  In addition, DZ also participates in BGSU’s Dance Marathon (which benefits the Toledo-area Children’s Hospital as a part of Children’s Miracle Network)!!

If that’s not enough good news, the DeeZees at Gamma Tau Chapter are also recognized for their participation in community service.  When it comes to enriching the community of Bowling Green & beyond, Delta Zeta truly sparkles like the diamond & shines like the lamp!!

Since 1950, the DeeZees at Bowling Green State University have held the Sorority’s values & tradition dear & close to their hearts.  And those time-honored values & traditions shine brightly in all that DZ does at BGSU:  enriching their campus, enriching the community of Bowling Green & enriching the world!!

Alpha Gamma Delta: Through The Spirit of Sisterhood

For over 106 years, Alpha Gamma Delta has stayed true to its vision in inspiring women & impacting the world.  But that’s not all: AGD continues to provide its undergraduate & alumnae members various opportunities for personal development through the spirit of sisterhood!!

Ever since the Fraternity’s inception, Alpha Gamma Delta’s mission has remained steadfast & clear for both young & old.  First of all, AGD supports lifelong learning as a means to gain understanding & wisdom – some of life’s greatest lessons come not only from within the classroom but also outside of it as well.  Second, AGD promotes the value of fraternal membership as well as commitment to higher education – it shows in the great & little things that Alpha Gams do for their campuses & communities.  Third, the Fraternity prepares its members to contribute to the world’s work – even now, Alpha Gams are inspiring other women & making their impact in the world.  And last but not least, the Fraternity advocates lifetime involvement in AGD – as with other Greek organizations, Alpha Gamma Delta is not for college days alone!!

With around 185 collegiate chapters, over 25o alumnae chapters/associations & over 155,000 members, Alpha Gamma Delta truly gives its members opportunities for personal development, all through the spirit of sisterhood!!

Alpha Phi: From Hand To Hand & Heart To Heart

The ten women who founded Alpha Phi were not only true trailblazers, pioneers & visionaries.  They were also brave-hearted women with a noble purpose, women who saw clearly into the future.

At a time when women’s place in society was still highly limited, Alpha Phi’s Founders turned the norms & conventions of their day upside down by paving the way for the coeducational system.  Attending Syracuse University with both subtle & open opposition to deal with, the Founders of A-Phi sought support from each other.  Clara Burdette, Hattie, Martha, Ida, Jane, Kate, Elizabeth, Rena, Louise & Clara Williams saw the need for a social center, a tie which should unite, a circle of friends who could sympathize with one another in their perplexities (especially during a time when the male consensus was reluctant/resistant to allow women enroll at colleges/universities).  Since A-Phi was founded in 1872, the Fraternity has kept on doing what it does best:  giving the world outstanding women who support one another in lifelong achievement!!

Even today, Alpha Phi continues to provide a tie which unites & a circle of friends for women both young & old, for women from differing backgrounds & walks of life.  From hand to hand & heart to heart, A-Phi has been going steadfast & strong for over 138 years!!
